TruePx Changelog Add to Chrome

Changelog

What changed in each version of TruePx. Chrome updates the extension by itself; check your version in TruePx’s settings, top right.

2.1.2 #

Pick a CSS variable while you edit, every edit in the Changes tab, saved edits for a whole site, the side panel in its own window, and edits that come back reliably.

New

  • CSS variables in Edit mode: clicking a value lists the page’s variables that fit that property, the ones the page already uses for it first, with their colors, pixel sizes and how often each is used. Pick one and TruePx writes var(--name).
  • The Changes tab lists text and HTML edits too (Edit Text, paste, duplicate, delete, cut, and an AI agent’s text, HTML and class changes), as a diff of the element’s HTML. Each block can be copied or reverted; long diffs fold behind “Show N more lines”.
  • Undo on the dock brings back what Revert or Revert All removed.
  • Saved edits in Settings: choose to save CSS edits for this page or for the whole site, see every page and site with saved edits, and clear them one by one or all at once.
  • Open in a window: the side panel can move into its own window, and back.

Fixes

  • Colors from Fix all contrast issues and an AI agent’s CSS edits are listed in the Changes tab, saved like your own edits, and removed by Revert or Revert All. Before, they came back after a reload with no way to undo them, and only on the first of several look-alike elements.
  • element.style edits are saved for the page too, and come back on the same element.
  • Pins and saved edits find the right element when several look alike (three identical stat labels, say).
  • The Source view shows shorthands written with variables as they are (background: var(--brand)), instead of eight empty lines. AI agents get the same.
  • Pin markers no longer show through the responsive preview.
  • The color-vision bar sits above the dock, so it isn’t covered at laptop widths.
  • Open at this size in a new tab opens a window at the viewport’s size.
  • Assets says “No images or SVGs on this page.” when there are none, and counts read “Images: 1 · SVGs: 3”.
  • Text you type with Edit Text can be undone from the dock, and the element no longer keeps a contenteditable attribute afterwards.

2.1.1 #

Contrast results you can trust on real sites, two deeper Audit checks, and a language-version check. (2.1.1 replaced 2.1.0 before it reached users.)

Contrast

  • Text contrast is now measured with axe-core, the engine behind Lighthouse, in the Audit, the Element tab and for AI agents. It sees the real background through layers, pseudo-elements, transparency and shadows, and treats text as large at 24 px, or 18.5 px bold, as WCAG does.
  • Text on a photo, gradient or overlay is measured from the pixels painted behind it.
  • Text over something that keeps changing (a video, a slideshow, an animation) is listed to check by eye, with the reason, instead of getting a verdict from one moment. So is text covered by a banner, or on a carousel slide that isn’t showing.

Audit

  • Check the whole page: scrolls through the page a screen at a time, so scroll animations and lazy images are checked as a visitor sees them.
  • Measure the real page load: reloads the page with an empty cache and records its status, security headers, and every file’s size and errors.
  • Focus rings are read from the CSS cascade; hidden-but-focusable controls are confirmed twice before they’re reported; tap targets use WCAG’s 24 px minimum.
  • Images are measured by their own pixels (aware of srcset) for “far more pixels”, “blurry” and “stretched”; images nobody can see are skipped.
  • Outside services are named from third-party-web, the dataset Lighthouse uses. Render-blocking stylesheets from hosted platforms (Webflow, Wix, Squarespace…) get advice that fits them.
  • The typo check reads every block of visible text and says how much of the page it checked.
  • Page-wide checks look at up to 20,000 elements, and the Audit says when a check on a larger page stopped early.
  • Design consistency counts only what the site shows: hidden elements and cookie-consent dialogs are left out.

SEO tab

  • Check each version links back: loads every language version and checks it points back, as Google requires.
  • Tags that should appear once but have different values (title, description, canonical, og: and twitter: tags) are flagged.
  • Structured data: HTML codes inside values, and names that don’t match the page, are flagged.
  • Decorative images (alt="") are listed for review instead of an all-clear. Problems inside hidden menus are reported separately, and findings inside a cookie-consent dialog are labelled as the vendor’s code.

Fixes

  • Running the Audit no longer leaves some images on the page collapsed until you reload.
  • Cloudflare’s background checks on a normal page are no longer mistaken for a bot-check page.
  • Video that streams in pieces is no longer reported as failed files.
  • Image links are named by their image’s alt text; long file names and addresses are shortened in lists.

AI agents: requires the truepx-mcp bridge 0.1.3.

2.0.0 #

The Audit tab: one list of what’s wrong with the page, worst first.

  • Five categories: Accessibility, Launch & privacy, Performance, Content, and Design & layout, with Fix these first at the top.
  • Launch & privacy checks: missing security headers, server version leaks, insecure files and forms, secret keys in the page’s scripts, tracking that runs before consent, and missing privacy, terms and favicon.
  • Performance measured on your visit: main content (LCP), layout shift (CLS), server reply, slowest click (INP), page size and outside services, and image checks.
  • A built-in typo check on every audit, and a grammar check with LanguageTool when you ask for it.
  • Google’s PageSpeed test on request, with your own API key when the shared limit runs out.
  • Tab order: numbers every stop the Tab key visits, right on the page.
  • Each issue opens to its elements and how to fix it, with Copy for AI and Ignore on this site. Reports download as Markdown, PDF or CSV, and a re-run shows what changed since the last check.
  • Pause inspection moved next to the Inspect/Edit switch, and P toggles it.
  • Asset tiles can switch to a dark background so white logos show.
  • Find by selector tints its matches instead of covering them, so their text stays readable.
  • AI agents get audit_run, the 61st tool.

  • AI agents through the truepx-mcp bridge, with 60 tools.
